SK-SRB-2016-0001 (2017-18) E.Chmielewská - zodpovedná riešiteľka; Vzhľadom k tomu, že Slovensko je krajina mimoriadne bohatá na kvalitné prírodné zeolit (druh klinoptilolit, priemyselné ložisko Nižný Hrabovec), ale veľmi chudobná na fosílne zdroje,
odkázaná na dovoz, je potrebné sa perspektívne zamerať na intenzívnejšie zhodnocovanie
domácich zdrojov surovín a zvýšiť ich pridanú hodnotu.Na základe širokého spektra interakcií s
povrchom zeolitu a jeho vhodných mechanických a hydrodynamických vlastností, pripravíme
nové pokročilé adsorbenty na báze zeolitu, ktorého bohaté zásoby s takmer 50-ročnými
skúsenosťami výskumu má SR a na strane kooperujúceho partnera Srbska sa tento nosič
derivatizuje napr. s prírodnými biopolymérmi (polysacharidmi), príp. tiež biopolymérmi z
morských kôrovcov tak, aby sa pripravil ekonomicky únosný a potenciálne multifunkčný
adsorbent, synergujúci vlastnosti pôvodných komponentov (zeolitu a polysacharidov) pri
dekontaminácii banských odtokov a ohrozených podzemných vôd pomocou vybudovaných
podpovrchových bariér. Ďalší variant modifikácie je obohatenie povrchu zeolitu s oxohydroxidmi
kovov, ktoré môžu rozšíriť vlastnosti zeolitu o baktericídne účinky. Získané know-how sa využije
pri sanácii početných environmentálnych záťaží v SR (cca 10% celkového územia) a na iniciáciu
ďalšej medzinárodnej spolupráce v rámci EÚ projektov.
