VI.5 - Participation in conducting (leading) the most important research projects or art projects over the last six years
1

Slovak Research and Development Agency grant APVV 20-0166 (2021 - 2025) Nonconventional yeasts as producers of high value-added lipids (scientific co-worker). The project is focused on the potential of nonconventional yeasts for the production of two such lipids – punicic acid and squalene. An important aim of the project is also lipid metabolism and production of lipids in selected species of the genus Magnusiomyces and screening of nonconventional yeasts from yeast collections for their potential to produce high value-added lipids.

2

Slovak Grant Agency VEGA 1/0136/20 (2020 - 2023) Peroxisomal biogenesis and metabolism in pathogenic yeasts (deputy principal investigator). The project is focused on comparative and functional analysis of biogenesis and metabolism of peroxisomes in order to elucidate the role of these organelles in the physiology of pathogenic yeasts.

3

Slovak Grant Agency VEGA 1/0027/19 (2019 – 2022) Functional analysis of metabolic gene clusters coding for the enzymes of catabolic degradation of hydroxyaromatic compounds (scientific co-worker). The project deals with a comparative and functional analysis of genes encoding enzymes of the 3-oxoadipate and gentisate pathways in yeast.

4

Slovak Research and Development Agency grant APVV 18-0239 (2019 – 2023) Non-conventional applications of emerging sequencing technologies in comparative and functional genomics (scientific co-worker). The aim of the project is to develop new experimental and bioinformatic approaches that, in combination with third-generation sequencing technologies, will allow the sequencing of complete genomes of unconventional yeast species characterized by high genetic and phenotypic diversity. We plan to subsequently analyse the obtained genome sequences using comparative and functional genomics methods.
