VI.5 - Participation in conducting (leading) the most important research projects or art projects over the last six years
1

Research-team member in the Project of the The Slovak Research and Development Agency [APVV-21-0147]

Project name: Advanced plasma technologies applicable in agriculture for surface treatment of seeds and dried fruits

Project leader: doc. RNDr. Anna Zahoranová, PhD.

Project duration: 2022 - 2026

Project annotation: The aim of the project is to study atmospheric pressure LTP generated by different types of plasma sources relevant for application in agriculture to various types of plant models. The research is focused on evaluating the overall effects of LTP on seeds and dried fruits. The effects of plasma will be investigated on the growth, physiological, biochemical, molecular-biological and anatomical aspects of plants after plasma treatment of seeds. It also includes a study of the plasma effects on plant resistance and the initiation of an adaptive response to environmental stressors (heavy metals, salinity, etc.).

2

Research-team member in the Project of The Scientific Grant Agency of Slovak Republic VEGA [1/0745/20]

Project name: Plant resistance induction against phytophagous sucking insects with non-toxic silicon

Project leader: doc. Mgr. Michal Martinka, PhD.

Project duration: 2020 - 2023

Project annotation: The goal of this project is to find out if silicon application can enhance the plant shoot defence against phytopathogenic insects either by specific deposition of silicate aggregates or by metabolic changes in the plant shoots.

3

Research-team member in the Project of the The Slovak Research and Development Agency [SK-PT-18-0020]

Project name: Studying combined climate change effects on crop plants – a collaborative approach

Project leader: doc. Mgr. Boris Bokor, PhD.

Project duration: 2019 - 2020 (2022 - due to COVID-19 restrictions)

Project annotation: This project is based on unique collaborative approach of two complementary teams interested in the study of combined climate change effects on important agricultural crops.

4

Research-team leader of Comenius University Grant [UK/121/2020]

Project name: The effect of antioxidant enzyme activities in resistance of Sorghum bicolor agains drought stress

Project duration: 2020

Project annotation: The aim of the project is to built up comprehensive picture about metabolic traits leading to plant drought resistance. For this purpose is the project focused on soghum's (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) cultivars Gadambalia (drought-tolerant) and Tabat (drought-sensitive).

5

Research-team leader of Comenius University Grant [UK/145/2019]

Project name: Physiological adaptations of Sorghum bicolor to water deficit

Project duration: 2019

Project annotation: The aim of the project is to contribute to better understanding of differences in plant resistance to water deficit. The project is focused on model object - soghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), which cultivars Gadambalia and Tabat vary in sensitivity to this stress factor.
