APVV-22-0133: Green Laboratory for Analysis and Characterization of Pharmaceuticals and Bioactive Agents, 2023-2027, member of research team. Project solved in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics and the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Comenius University in Bratislava. The project focused on new possibilities for the development of environmentally friendly analytical methodologies suitable for monitoring/analysis of pharmaceutical, biomedical, forensic and environmental samples.
APVV-17-0318: Application possibilities of new orthogonal miniaturized and microseparation analytical systems for rapid monitoring of biological, environmental and forensic samples, 2018-2022, member of research team. Application-oriented project, solved in cooperation with the Department of Experimental Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava, focused on studying the application possibilities of new orthogonal miniaturized and microseparation analytical systems for rapid monitoring of biological, environmental and forensic samples and creating a new concept of combined microseparation. techniques based on liquid chromatography and electrophoresis with ion mobility spectrometry.
APVV-17-0373: New Small Molecules and Bioactive Nanoparticles for Therapy of Inflammatory and Degenerative Diseases of Bones and Joints, 2018–2022, responsible investigator for co-research organization. (The project was included in the category of the most successful APVV projects in 2023.) The project is focused on the application potential of small molecules and nanosystems with targeted distribution. The proposed project builds on the significant results obtained in solving the project APVV-0516-12, which was completed on June 30, 2017. Some of these basic research results, as well as the compounds that were synthesized, characterized and tested, form the basis for an applied research and development project in the field of compounds with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and self-aggregating properties as well as systems containing stabilized nanoparticles. In addition, compounds with an amide, sulfonamide and carbamate group are also used. Applied research, in cooperation with medical institutions, will focus on influencing some degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system, especially the joints, bones and cartilage. Some functional groups have been found to allow cells to adhere to collagen, while others aid in the crystallization of calcium. A structure has been developed which meets all of these requirements in a single molecule and which is capable of self-organizing in the treatment of osteoporotic changes.
VEGA 1/0116/22: Integration of New Miniaturized Analytical Systems into the Treatment, Analysis and Preparation of Complex Biological, Environmental and Pharmaceutical Samples, 2022-2024, member of research team. Basic research project, solved in cooperation with the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, focused on the development of new miniaturized analytical systems for treatment, analysis and preparation of biological, environmental and pharmaceutical samples. The goal of the project is the implementation of originally developed microextraction techniques for sample preparation and minor used miniaturized detection techniques (amperometric detection, Raman spectrometry, ion mobility spectrometry) into microseparation analytical systems to improve the detection and identification possibilities of determining trace analytes in ionogenic matrices. Based on electrokinetic and chromatographic fractionation, experimental protocols will be developed to simplify the analysis of complex samples. The project also includes the development of new computer protocols for predicting the chromatographic and mobility characteristics of selected environmental contaminants, active components of pharmaceutical preparations with antiviral and antibacterial effects, and biomarkers of various diseases in body fluids.
VEGA 1/0787/18: Development of new techniques for the treatment of biomedical and environmental samples for advanced combined analytical methods, 2019-2020, member of research team. Basic research project, solved in cooperation with the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, focused on the development of new sample preparation techniques for advanced combined analytical methods based on electroseparations, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance for trace analysis of low- and high-molecular ionogenic substances in biomedical and environmental samples.
