VEGA 2/0014/16 The role of cytokines/chemokines in the immune response to influenza A infection. 2016-2019 principal investigator. 

The main aim of this project is to study innate immune response to influenza virus and role ov NS1 protein.

VEGA 2/0031/20 Influence of NS1 protein and influenza virus load on the pathogenesis and innate immune response in brains, hearts and spleens of infected mice. 2020-2023 Principal investigator.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The main aim of this project is to investigate the spread of low virulent and high virulent influenza viruses into the brain, heart and spleen of infected mice and compare immune responses induced in these organs.

VEGA 2/0014/24 The immune cell subsets and apoptosis in response to influenza A virus. 2024-2027. Principal investigator.

The aims of this project are study the development of immune cells subpopulations in the primary site of infection (lungs) and in secondary sites of infection (different organs);  determinate the role of apoptosis in immune cells, and  clarify the role of the NS1 protein in the development of immune cell subpopulations and in the introduction of apoptosis in these cells after infection with IAV.
