The paper focuses on the issue of spreading misinformation on the Internet and in the media environment, which is exceptionally widespread in Slovakia. According to a Globsec survey conducted at the end of 2021, up to 56 per cent of Slovak citizens believe in various conspiracy theories, which is the highest among the Visegrad Four countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia), but we also occupy an unflattering leading position among the countries of Central Europe and the Western Balkans. It turns out that the disinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic, the mysterious domination of the Jews over world events, the forthcoming occupation of Slovakia by the United States army, or the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, after being introduced to it on dubious portals, as well as in the media, is believed by people irrespective of their level of education.

The paper focuses on the use of alternative sentences in Slovakia. Alternative or alternative punishment is actually a quasi-punishment. Basically, it should not be a punishment. We do not consider suspended imprisonment to be a punishment, fine or penalty of compulsory or forced labour. It should therefore be a penal commitment.
