The publication brings a new perspective on the issue of man and person. The article tries to ask fundamental questions from the position of a lawyer, but to answer them philosophically. It also points to a fundamental change in the understanding of the concepts of man and person in legal thinking, especially under the influence of human rights. Important is also the effort to analyze current bioethical topics, especially the status of the embryo.

The article deals with the EU's eastern policy, especially with regard to human rights issues, which is also related to the case of Mikhail Khodorkovsky. The article analyzes the complex procedures for the protection of human rights through the bodies of the Council of Europe, although it should be added that only some ECHR decisions were known at the time of publication of the article
