Ladislav Vaska - created a new system of professional practice financed from the state budget, standards of professional practice and introduced supervision in the field of social work. He is a founding and visiting member of the Chamber of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants. He cooperated intensively with the Ministry of Labour and Social Work of the Slovak Republic as the chairman of AVSP also during the COVID-19 pandemic (Memorandum of Cooperation, National Project of Professional Practice for Psychology and Social Work Students, etc.).
Awards: Nomination as a member of the Expert Commission of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic for the evaluation of research organisations established by the Ministry (2018); Letter of thanks from the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic for professional contribution in the preparation of the draft law on social work and on the conditions of performance of certain professional activities in the field of social affairs and family and on the amendment and supplementation of certain laws and for work in the working group for the preparation of the law on social work (2015); Rector's Award of the University of Bratislava for successful scientific and pedagogical activity and exceptional contribution in the field of social sciences (2014); Dean's Award (Memorial Letter) for long-standing work and contribution to the faculty (2016); Honorary Recognition of the Dean of the Faculty of Social Work in Bratislava for long-standing and conceptual work in the field of the School of Social Work (2006); Dean's Award of the Faculty of Social Work in Banská Bystrica for contribution to the development of the field of social work in the national and international context (2023); Congratulations of the Mayor of Banská Bystrica on the award of the highest academic title by the President of the Slovak Republic and recognition of the contribution to the University of Matej Bel and to the city of Banská Bystrica (2023); and Award on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Banská Bystrica's founding (2023); and Award on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Banská Bystrica's founding.
