VEGA 1/0563/19 Unknown sources on the history of Slovakia in Italian archives (14th-16th century), (2019 - 2022). Deputy project leader. https://vega0563.weebly.com/ Brief characteristics: The aim of the project is to offer new sources for historical research. The project establishes selection criteria and, on the basis of these criteria, selects and prepares for publication significant, preferably unknown or unpublished sources, from archives in Italy from the 14th to 16th centuries, related to the history of Slovakia. It contributes to the understanding of the sources studied on regional and European history, its economic, cultural and social processes by making available diplomatic correspondence and diplomatic reports, account books of the Diocese of Esztergom, as well as artistic depictions of the period of the anti-Turkish wars in the territory of Slovakia.

VEGA 1/0618/20 Romance Languages and Multilingualism. The development of verb tense and aspect in interlanguage (2020-2022). Member of the research team. Brief description: The aim of the project is to investigate the development of verb tense and verb aspect in the interlanguage of learners of Romance languages. Given that Romance languages are generally acquired as third languages in Slovakia, the research focuses on the development of interlanguage from a multilingual perspective. According to a number of studies on multilingualism (e.g., Jessner, 2008; Jessner et al., 2016), multilingual learners are not monolingual, but have specific skills and characteristics that constitute the so-called multilingualism factor (M-factor). However, multilingual learners do not automatically use multilingualism to their advantage, so they may need training in multilingual competence in order to exploit the catalysing effect of the M-factor on interlanguage development. The project is designed as a longitudinal research to investigate the impact of multilingual workshops on the development of the tense and verb-visual system in the interlanguage of students studying Romance languages at the Faculty of Education, Comenius University in Bratislava.

VEGA1/0780/16 White Places in the Slovak Translation of the Spanish Theatre of the Golden Age (2016-2018). Brief characteristics. The project explores the reception of the dramatic works of the Golden Age of Spanish literature in Slovak culture with the aim of mapping the white spots in this area and explaining the reasons for their emergence. It compares the situation in Slovakia with the situation in selected Central European countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria) and analyses the divergences and convergences found from a historical and cultural point of view. At the same time, it contrasts them with the situation in France, which will contribute to uncovering new contexts. The project aims to at least partially cover the currently absent in Slovakia scientific research in the field of theatre of the Spanish Golden Age and at the same time to bring a new, comparative view of the researched area, which has not yet been presented even abroad, thus enabling the entry of Slovak scholarship into the international scientific dialogue on this period and at the same time bringing important insights for Slovak theatre scholarship.

VEGA 1/0761/24 Children and Childhood in Spanish Language and Literature in the Transition to Modern Society (19th Century).
Brief description: The project contributes to the reconstruction of the image of children and childhood in Spain in the transition to modern society (19th century). The main goal is to fill the gap in the knowledge of childhood-related lexis, mapping the lexical-semantic innovations that took place also as a result of changes significantly affecting the lives of children and the discourse on childhood, focusing on texts read by the emerging middle class, primarily periodicals, but also selected literary and literary-pedagogical works. The research will improve the knowledge of Spanish in one of the least studied periods of its history and will enable the exploration of hitherto overlooked aspects of childhood reflection in literary texts in inter-Romance context.
