APVV-17-0161 Neglected Context. Occasional genres in Slovak literature in the 16th – 18th centuries, 2018 – 2022, scientific co-worker.

The project is aimed at reconstructing the image of literary culture and education in the Slovak language environment on the basis of texts of occasional literature (written in Latin and in the vernacular language) in the 16th-18th centuries. The research will make available and bring closer hitherto unknown or little-known texts. It will also shed light on the issue of genres of occasional works. It will also shed light on literary life, contacts between scholars, authors, printers and others who contributed to its development in the local and European region.

APVV-18-0032 Mythological conceptions about the world in the narrative sources in Slovakia in the system of Slavic linguistic and cultural relations, 2019 - 2023, scientific co-worker. (from 01. 07. 2020).

The project will present an interdisciplinary thematic research on the meanings and influences of mythical archetypal (primordial) images of system - justice - law - order in their long-term development and gradual establishment in the cultural identity of Slovaks in the broader Slavic/European context. The project initiative also includes an edition of rare, hitherto unprocessed narrative sources related to the Slovak cultural space, in which the mythical reflection of the creation of the system/order/justice/justice/justice established in the cultural memory of the community is depicted, giving its comprehensive interpretation through the prism of ethnolinguistics and the theory of signs (cultural semiotics).

 APVV-19-0158 Slovak preach literature in the 19th century, 2020 - 2024; scientific co-worker.

In the history of Slovak literature, it has received only marginal attention (during the communist period, the topic was deliberately avoided and not all library and archival holdings were accessible), therefore, a comprehensive treatment, statistical, theological, content, artistic-literary and linguistic analysis is still lacking. This genre is also important because it influenced a wide segment of the population, shaped modern Slovak national and cultural identity, and formed both Catholic and Evangelical communities. The project will map preaching writings in the Slovak language from the 19th century, primarily printed and secondarily preserved in manuscript. It is a basic research project that will predominantly examine the original editions of sermons and the preserved manuscripts of sermons in memory institutions. The aim of the project is to produce partial studies, two anthologies (pastoral letters of Catholic bishops; selection of classical sermons according to various criteria), the preparation of a lexicon of the authors of sermons and a monographic analytical and synthetic treatment of the whole subject.

APVV-22-0088 What do Slovak archives hold? The spiritual legacy of the east in the west, scientific co-worker.

The project is devoted to the research of a currently neglected part of the heritage of Western spiritual culture, which is also represented by the Byzantine-Slavic tradition as an inseparable component of its identity. Already in the period of the Great Moravian mission, Byzantine-Slavic culture participated in the creation of European civilization and its cultural values. The Cyrillic written legacy in Slovakia is linked not only to the Great Moravian tradition, but also to the spiritual heritage of the Wallachian colonisation. The picture of this cultural integrity will be accentuated by the first systematisation and description of Cyrillic written monuments stored in memory institutions in Slovakia as the main result of the project. These writings prove the connection of the spiritual and cultural legacy of the Slovaks with the Byzantine-Slavic context and the inculturation of this legacy in Western culture.

VEGA 2/0045/23 Transformations and contexts of cultural identity in the enclave and diaspora on the example of Slovaks and Rusnaks in the Lowlands, scientific co-worker.

The project deals with the linguistic and literary-cultural communication of the community and its transformations in the diaspora environment. The relationship to tradition, values and linguistic-confessional memory in the project becomes the starting point for a comparative synchronic-diachronic research of linguistic expressions in selected literary monuments and other areas of written culture since the mid-18th century associated with the environment of Slovak Evangelicals, Catholics and Greek Catholics-Rusnaks in the Lower Lands.
