1

MZ SR; 2012/2-UKBA-2: Biochemické aspekty hypoperfúzie mozgu u sklerózy multiplex; (2012-2015) principal investigator

The aim of the project was to identify some parameters and risk factors in relation to the progression of multiple sclerosis. There have been changes in some parameters that may contribute to the clinical complications of some patients or may be associated with an increased risk of IM in these patients.

2

IMPACE-PS-klinická štúdia (PLEURAN s.r.o.): Imunomodulačný účinok pleuranu (β-glukán získaný z Pleurotus ostreatus) a jeho klinický význam u pacientov s CHOCHP trpiacich častými infekčnými exacerbáciami; (2017-2022) principal investigator

The aim of the project is to verify the assumption of the clinical benefit and modification of a wide range of processes related to the modulation of inflammation in the context of the occurrence of exacerbations of COPD or the occurrence of serious infections in patients with COPD. In addition to confirming the basic hypothesis, the pilot study should provide data on tolerability, safety and possible adverse reactions.

Activity 2: Identification of key histo-morphological features in patients who died in direct connection with SARS-CoV-2 infection and correlation of findings with selected animal models - flexibility (LFUK, Janega, Lišková, Ďurfinová)

Objective 2.1: Identification of the main histomorphological changes that have caused severe complications and death in patients with COVID19 and that can be modeled experimentally in animal models.

Objective 2.2: Correlation of findings in patients and known animal models with a focus on the inflammatory response of the organism (sepsis, pneumonia model) and modification of animal models

Objective 2.3: Evaluation of functional changes of the cardiovascular system in relevant animal experiments.
