2018-2019: VEGA 1/0587/18 Past and Perspectives of Hispanic Studies in Slovakia (chief researcher). The project focused on the research of the beginnings of teaching Spanish in Slovakia, clarified the historical and cultural circumstances of the activities of the first hispanists. It brought new knowledge about Slovakia's cultural relations with Hispanic countries in several areas (cinematography, travelling) and presented more comprehensive views on the development of translation from Spanish into Slovak.
2020-2022: European Commission: Creative Europe, 616934-CREA-1-2020-1-ES-CULT-COOP1“European Network of Storytelling Towns“ (co-researcher)
The ENST project aims at building a European Network of Storytelling towns that will connect all European places related in any way to storytelling and oral lore. It will also entice those towns who are not specially devoted to these matters to become initiated in this cultural and artistic practice.
The final objectives of the ENST project are the following:
To strengthen the European oral heritage and lore.
To spread and share internationally the oral lore of EU countries.
To improve the training of storytellers as well as their professional opportunities.
To widen the audiences for oral narration, with a special focus on young people and refugees.
To create a cultural partnership of European cities which promote storytelling and oral lore and want to be part of the European Storytelling Cities Network.
2021-2023: VEGA č. 1/0577/21 Vladimír Oleríny: translator, literary and cultural diplomat (co-researcher).The aim of the project is to evaluate systematically the activities of Vladimír Oleríny (1921 - 2016), an important figure in Slovak Hispanic studies. His finished translation and literary-historical work makes it possible to explore various stages of his professional life in socio-political and cultural context. V. Oleríny stood at the birth of Slovak Hispanic studies as a modern scientific discipline, his name is associated with the Spanish teaching beginnings at the Faculty of Arts at Comenius University (FFUK), with translations of the most important literary works from Spanish. He maintained contacts with personalities of Hispanic culture, and with his activities he fundamentally influenced the form of Slovak Hispanic studies for almost seventy years. Nevertheless, several key moments of his work has not been further explored and evaluated. The importance of the synthetic approach is also felt with regard to the upcoming 100th anniversary of his birth, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University, where he began teaching Spanish in 1950 as the first Slovak.
