Attachment models and psychological contract in the context of organizational behavior and attitudes.

GA VEGA, 1/0952/14, 2014 - 2016; Principal investigator

The results of the project contributed to a systematic knowledge of current concepts used in work psychology (commitment to the organization, commitment to the working group, commitment to the profession, organizational civic behavior, psychological contract, leader-subordinate relationship) and their relationship to dispositional dimensions represented by attachment models in adulthood. as well as demographic and labor (situational) variables. The attachment avoidance dimension was the most significant predictor of the lack of affective commitment to the organization, the working group as well as voluntary citizeship behavior (OCB) in the workplace. The anxiety dimension predicted a normative commitment to the organization. Relationships with a superior as well as the perceived importance of a relational psychological contract have been confirmed as more significant predictors of the intention to remain in the workplace compared to personality attachment dimensions.

2

Reconceptualizing workplace commitment: individual and organizational associations.

GA VEGA, 1/0273/18, 2018 -2020;

Principal investigator

The project is focused on the analysis and reflection of a reconstructed one-dimensional ("target-free") commitment in an organizational context (Klein et al., 2014). The aim of the project is to identify individual and organizational factors which contribute to the formation of object-relevant cognitive and affective states and subsequently to the formation of commitment to selected types of targets (eg. job, organization, career). The methodological objective is to verify the construct validity of the instrument for measuring the commitment to

specific work and organizational objects (KUT, Klein et al., 2014) by testing associations between the one-dimensional concept of commitment and other, target-congruent psychological states and attitudes. The implications of the project consist of a conceptual clarification of the multi-dimensional construct of the commitment, and verification of the instrument to measure the commitment to specific workplace targets in a dynamically changing environment.

„Human information behavior in the electronic environment. APVV-15-0508,

project joint with FIIT STU (Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies Bratislava

Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava), co-researcher

Project is aimed at the basic research of models and methods of acquisition and processing of information, which are primarily used for predicting of behavior of human in digital space, which are consequently used for improving the work with information. The processed information are especially the implicit feedback signals –footprints that the human leaves us during his interaction with digital space. In the project, we will work with signals that are nowadays only starting to be considered and researched, for example gaze tracking or tracking of physiological characteristics. In the context of information processing, these signals were (until now) only utilized in static applications. This is due to the difficult technical realization of the signal measurements, which itself imposes challenges like processing of big data. The goal of the project is to acquire remarkable new knowledge about how the human is behaving in the environment of digital information a how does he/she react on information he/she is receiving within, all this from the perspective of interconnected research areas of computer science, social science and behavioral science. This knowledge would enable design and evaluation of models that would uncover connections between individual feedback signals. This will subsequently enable design of new methods of personalization of information, either from the perspective of visualization or navigation in digital space.

Dark sides of information technology use: effects of technological stress on well-being and productivity at work

GA VEGA 1/0603/21; 2021 - 2023: Principal investigator

The massive use of information technology (IT) is becoming imperative at work, across professions and types oforganizations.The aim of the project is to analyze the dark sides of IT use and verify models of the effects of ITstressors and personal resources as mitigating mechanisms on "positive work well-being" - work attitudes(engagement, commitment) and behavior (productivity, performance), as also on experiencing stress (burnout),the intention to leave the organization. The theoretical basis of the project is the heuristic model of job demandsand resources (JDR; Bakker & Demerouti, 2007) and the theory of coping (Lazarus, Folkman,1984). Twomethodological approaches are planned: qualitative (semi-structured interview) and quantitative one. Researchresults can be beneficial for the field of theory (technostress in frame of JDR model), research (verification of newtools measuring technostress), managerial practice (identification of ways to mitigate the effects of technostresson employees well-being).
