Cieľom projektu bolo sledovanie vplyvu extraktov vybraných rastlín a ich obsahových látok na niektoré významné faktory v etiopatogenéze diabetu 2.typu a vysvetlenie pozitívnych účinkov týchto rastlín pozorovaných v rámci riešenia grantových úloh v minulých rokoch: VEGA 1/0145/10 a 1/0646/14.

V tomto projekte bol sledovaný vplyv izoflavónu genisteínu na rôzne modely hojenia rán u ovarektomizovaných potkanov in vivo a na bunky (fibroblasty, keratinocyty, endotelové bunky) zapojené do hojenia rán in vitro. Pochopenie týchto biologických dejov môže pomôcť zlepšiť terapiu predovšetkým hojenia rán u postmenopauzálnych žien.
APVV-20-0017: Vývoj aktívneho krytia rán na báze antibakteriálneho hydrogélu obsahujúceho rastlinný extrakt stimulujúci hojenie.

Projekt je zameraný na vývoj hydrogélov obsahujúcich prírodné látky za účelom vytvorenia aktívneho krytia rán pre zdravých a diabetických pacientov. Výskum bude zameraný na nájdenie optimálnej technológie prípravy hydrogélov a nerozpustných matríc, inkorporáciu aktívnych látok so zameraním sa na rastlinné extrakty repíka lekárskeho vo forme mikro- a nano-častíc za účelom zefektívnenia terapie. Tieto aktívne krytia rán budú testované aj v kombinácii s antimikrobiálne pôsobiacimi nízko-molekulovými látkami. V priebehu riešenia projektu sa postupne prejde od základného in vitro testovania po animálne štúdie.
