VI.5 - Participation in conducting (leading) the most important research projects or art projects over the last six years
1

Project title: Research of key competences for the knowledge society in the context of historical, social and economic specificities of the Slovak Republic, Grant scheme: APVV-18-0479, Years of implementation: 2019-2023

The aim of the project is to explore key competences in the context of the knowledge society, i. e. to identify a set of key competencies necessary for the effective implementation of knowledge processes and, at the same time, examine key competences in the context of historical and cultural specifics of the Slovak Republic, and to focus on current and future factors determining the nature of society in the near future and also to find the most appropriate methods of mass diffusion of the necessary knowledge and skills into the society.

Position: researcher responsible for activities under Work Package 6: Research on the effectiveness of systems for capturing and sharing knowledge and links to key competences.

Project title: Will we recover from the Covid19 pandemic? - the social, economic and legal perspectives of the pandemic crisis. Grant scheme: APVV PP-COVID-20-0026, Years of implementation: 2020-2021

The project focuses on research into the economic, social and legal aspects of a pandemic. During it, the behavior of companies and individuals changed, and so did the organization of life. Given the pace and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, social scientists have had almost no time to provide fact-based results, and therefore no policy recommendations. Thus, policymakers relied largely on their best judgment when taking measures to mitigate the effects of the corona crisis. What impact, whether positive or negative, have these policies had? Part of the project will also focus on research on how information (the threat of disinformation) has affected the response to the pandemic, how we can learn from it and how to mitigate its negative effects.

Position: researcher: work package 2.2 Analysis of the specifics of the infordemic in Slovakia: Mapping of information flows in the hybrid information space and their influence on the information behaviour of Slovak citizens during the COVDI-19 infodemic.

Responsible for tasks: Identification of changes in information behavior of seniors in the Slovak Republic and User testing of websites of relevant state administration bodies of the Slovak Republic.

Project title: Capturing mechanisms and presentation of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) with emphasis on new media use. Grant scheme: APVV SK-PT-18-0011 Years of implementation: 2019-2022

The project focuses on the transfer of pragmatic knowledge as part of the intangible cultural heritage of the ICH. The general subject of research is the effectiveness of the mechanisms of knowledge transfer associated with ICH and its distribution through new media in the context of global society. The positive effect of this research lies in the transformation of the static approach to ICH to a more dynamic one, focused not only on documenting ICH, but mainly on the mechanisms of ICH transmission and increasing its availability through communication channels most often used by the young generation.

Position: researcher: Responsible for imlementation of the knowledge visualization into a general knowledge model of ICH.

Project title: Geometric, proportional and static analysis of historical trusses. Grant scheme: VEGA Project No. 1/0537/18, Years of implementation: 2018-2020,

The project deals with geometric, proportional and structural analyses of historic trusses in order to create a comprehensive statistical dataset. It includes analyses of the largest historical trusses in the territory of the Slovak Republic and abroad, comparison of the results with information obtained from contemporary literature and original project documentation. From the obtained statistical data, it will be possible to determine the extent of regional differences and the influence of individual cultural circuits on the development of historic truss structures.

Position: researcher responsible for geometric analyses of truss structures.

5

Project title: TAVES - Public Administration Press Agency, Grant scheme: Effective Public Administration Operational Programme, ITMS 314011Q469, Years of implementation: 2019-2021

The project concerns communication between the subjects of Public Administration (PA), on the one hand, legal entities and citizens who are recipients of PA services, on the other hand. The purpose of this project is to deal with this communication, analyze it, propose its systemic improvement, reflect these proposals in the documents of the Public Administration and put them into real, sustainable practice. The driving force of this process should be the involvement of non-profit NGOs in it so that a functional partnership of PA - NGO - beneficiaries, working to streamline communication between target groups. A project with this focus is planned in the Žilina region. The project responds to several identified problems - the concept of communication is absent at the regional level, there is no partnership approach in finding solutions, target groups are not involved in the creation of conceptual materials, no suitable form of communication is used. The project will be implemented through one main activity: the creation of TAVES - a public administration press agency.

Position: expert - analyst, evaluator. One of the two creators of the document Analysis and evaluation of the state of communication with a focus on changes in the ecosystem of local media and public administration entities.

Project name: Creative data analysis: a complex platform for the innovation of teaching the course of Data Analysis with the use of multimedia technologies; Grant scheme: KEGA, No. 069UK-4/2023; Years of realization: 2023-2025;

One of the distinctive features of the knowledge-based society is the enormous increase in data volumes related to the shift of people's lives to a hybrid information environment and the resulting requirements for new core competences necessary for transforming data into usable information and knowledge. Educational institutions in Slovakia have also responded to the need for new competences necessary for 21st century practice and we are currently witnessing processes of alignment of study programmes with the standards for the internal quality assurance system for higher education defined by the Slovak Higher Education Accreditation Agency. This project responds to this challenge by focusing on innovative educational and creative practical aspects of working with data for higher education students in the humanities and social sciences. The main objective of the project is the development of data literacy in the sense of the individual's ability to recognise the role of statistics in the world as an ability to use statistics in an adequate way necessary for employment in a knowledge-based society. We plan to achieve the above goal by creating a conceptual framework for the innovation of the teaching of the subject Data Analysis (not only) in the Media Studies programme. Our goal is to build a freely available comprehensive web platform for innovating the teaching of the subject Data Analysis using multimedia technologies. The proposed portal would consist of an electronic Data Analysis textbook designed for social sciences and humanities students, multimedia lectures containing elements of digital storytelling, digital quizzes, a repository of student multimedia works, and quizzes. This would be a creative innovation in content, forms and methods of education using interactive multimedia elements.
