               <p>State exam in the field of theoretical knowledge in the field of social work theory and research methodology</p>
               <p>The rating is given on a scale:</p>
               <p>A (excellent – excellent results),</p>
               <p>B (very good – above average standard),</p>
               <p>C (good – normal reliable work),</p>
               <p>D (satisfactory – acceptable results),</p>
               <p>E (sufficient – the results meet the minimum criteria),</p>
               <p>Fx (not enough - more extra work required)</p>
               <p>A-excellent performance, the student knows/controls/creates/critically evaluates; B-excellent performance, student knows/knows, but critical thinking is borderline; C-good performance, although the student knows/has learned, but cannot apply it in practice. D- sufficient performance, the student learned only the basic core of the content about the use of methods, he does not know how to apply them in practice, E - sufficient, the student learned to navigate the content of the course, but did not learn to actively work with it and apply it in practice.</p>

               <p>Brief outline of the subject: Theories of social work:</p>
               <p>History of theoretical concepts and thinking in social work. Differentiation and integration of knowledge in social work. Division of theories relevant to social work. Sociological and psychologizing concepts in social work. Psychodynamic, humanistic-existential, cognitive-behavioral, systemic and systemic and integrative theories and their impact on social work. Reform, radical, critical and contextual models in social work.</p>
               <p>Research methodology:</p>
               <p>Social research and its specifics in the context of social work. Preparation of quantitative research (conceptualization, operationalization of social reality, variables, signs and indicators). Research object in quantitative research. Data collection techniques in quantitative research (observation, questionnaire, interview, document analysis. Evaluation and interpretation of data in quantitative research.</p>
               <p>Qualitative research methods - other epistemologies and paradigms, connection of method and theory, data in qualitative research; research participants and the person of the researcher; approaches to the validity of qualitative data; qualitative research formats: grounded theory, ethnography, case study, biographical research; data acquisition methods; analysis and processing of research data and their interpretation.</p>

               <p>The graduate will be able to navigate the professional literature, will know relevant theoretical concepts of social work, will know qualitative and quantitative research methodology and will be ready to apply this knowledge in professional practice.             <popisTypuTextu>Conditions for completion of course</popisTypuTextu>
            <texty>
               <p>the conditions for registering for the state exam are defined by the Study Regulations of the Pedagogical Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava.</p>
               <p>In accordance with the rector's directive V Article 56 VP 23/2021 and the Final thesis must be original, created by the author as a result of his creative activity while observing the rules of working with information sources. The final thesis must not have the character of plagiarism, it must not violate the copyrights of other authors. The author is obliged to consistently cite the information sources used, to mention by name and specific research results of other authors or author collectives by citing the relevant source, to accurately describe the used methods and work procedures of other authors or author collectives, to document laboratory results and field research of other authors or author collectives. The author may not repeatedly submit his own identical or slightly modified work, which he has already defended once as a final work, a rigorous work or a habilitation work. (8) As a rule, the originality of the submitted work is verified by at least two independent anti-plagiarism systems, while the head of the final work, trainer and consultant of the rigorous work comment on the result of the originality check as part of the relevant assessment, regardless of the match value achieved by the originality check. The rector shall determine by directive the list of permissible anti-plagiarism systems, the use of which is mandatory for verification of originality; this does not exclude the use of other anti-plagiarism systems.</p>

            <popisTypuTextu>Brief outline of the course</popisTypuTextu>

               <p>With the diploma thesis, the student processes the chosen topic at the level of a scientific study with a representative selection of professional literature, with appropriately chosen scientific procedures, hypotheses that can be verified. The diploma thesis should be of benefit in a specific field (according to Article 3, Paragraph 1, Rector's Directive No. 12/2013) The condition for admission to the defense is the student's written consent to the publication and making available of the school work. The examination committee for conducting state examinations as part of the defense evaluates the content and formal level of the school work and its originality.</p>

The topic of the diploma thesis is in accordance with the optional subjects of study. Effective factors of group work and their impact on the relationship, development of the client's potential and correction of ineffective behavior. Art therapy as one of the methods of helping the client. Definition of drama therapy, basic terms in drama therapy. Drama therapy techniques Family therapy for social workers. Application of methods and procedures of individual system theories for their use when working with families in social work. Relaxation methods and methodologies.                <p>Brief outline of the subject: History of mediation. A brief description of individual periods of mediation development - modification of individual time periods. Mediation and its development in Slovak conditions. A brief description of the current state of mediation in Slovakia. Experience from the pilot project implementation by probation and mediation officers in 2002 and 2003, including experience from a pilot project in civil mediation. The basic principles of mediation, the role of the mediator, the status, rights and obligations of the mediator. Operation and roles of the mediator during the mediation process, confidentiality of the mediator. Cooperation in conducting the mediation process. The position of minors in the mediation process. Mediation and arbitration courts. Agreement on settlement of a dispute by mediation, agreement on initiation of mediation, mediation agreement. Creation of agreements - essential content requirements and their registration. Administration activity in the mediation process. Phases of the mediation process. Social work with adults released from imprisonment, social work with victims of violence and rapists, social work with persons who find themselves in a state of material or social need, provision of social services, provision of guarantees, alternative punishments, diversions in criminal law, sociotherapeutic approaches, addiction, prostitution, human trafficking, sects and religious cults. Implementation of social guardianship measures, resocialization and sociotherapy. Individual plan, crisis intervention. Imposition of educational measures. Providing intervention to a child with ADHD. Acting as a social curator for children and youth in criminal proceedings, court proceedings (e.g. institutional care order, protective education order). Providing cooperation of the social curator for children and youth with judicial authorities in probation or mediation proceedings.</p>

               <p>C (good – normal reliable work),</p>

               <p>E (sufficient – the results meet the minimum criteria),</p>
