Requirements for Successful Completion of State Examinations:
1. Defense of the Bachelor’s Thesis:
The evaluation consists of 4 parts:
a) supervisor’s evaluation
b) opponent’s evaluation
c) presentation of the thesis
d) discussion
Evaluation criteria for bachelor’s theses in the Public Health study program:
• thesis title – consistency with its content; similarly, consistency between the headings of individual chapters and their content
• abstract – informative, clear, and understandable
• creation of a coherent whole that accurately interprets professional and scientific knowledge; logical structure of the thesis; coherence between individual chapters; appropriate length of individual chapters
• objectives of the thesis – clear, understandable, and objectively assessable
• conclusions – appropriate and concise formulation
• Bibliography—appropriate, with a selection of representative foreign and domestic literature; up-to-date sources
• Formatting—a neat, well-organized thesis with correct style and spelling
• Quality of the defense and subsequent discussion regarding the topic addressed in the bachelor’s thesis, particularly the demonstration of knowledge of the subject matter as well as prompt and accurate responses to questions.

The student is able to creatively work with technical and scientific information. The bachelor thesis does not need to contain own empiric results, it can compile existing knowledge. In writing of the thesis, the student can employ gained theoretical knowledge on evaluation of implemented and planned measures in practice. He/she can propose recommendations for their improvement based on the current scientific knowledge. The student is able to provide his/her own opinion of the dealt problem and to interpret it.

Preparation for the state exam through self-study employing theoretical knowledge gained during the study and practical skills (gained during a summer practice after the 2nd year of study of bachelor study programme of Public Health as well as during a practice in hygiene and epidemiology in the 3rd year of study).

- proposal of approach to solve a model situation
- evaluation of a presented record
Theoretical part of the state exam:
- responding to a complex question to present comprehensive theoretical knowledge on a given problem

The student demonstrates theoretical knowledge in general and preventive medical disciplines to be employed in promotion and protection of health, in educating and motivating for healthy life-style of individuals, families, communities as well as the whole society. The student commands principles of protection and improvement of health through strategies of disease prevention, research of impact of an environment and life-style on human health, promotion and strengthening of health. He/she has gat theoretical abilities to apply in practice epidemiological and statistical methods of work. The student commands legislation related to public health, health care as well as performance of the state health supervision. He/she has got abilities and skills to provide preventive activities in accordance with the principles of the state health policy on all levels.
