The student will demonstrate the ability to prepare a research project design, which will then be practically implemented. By completing the dissertation examination, the student will demonstrate the ability to theoretically anchor his/her research and prepare a methodological framework for the research, including identification of the research question, how to obtain research data, and identification and minimization of potential risks and limitations associated with the research. The dissertation project also includes the development of a literature review in the area of inquiry, whereby the student demonstrates the ability to work with professional and scholarly literature and different types of sources. By passing the dissertation examination, the student will gain the knowledge and professional experience to carry out his/her own research project.

The student is able to develop a research project, define the theoretical background of the research, identify gaps in existing research and related literature for the treatment of the topic, methodologically correct formulation of the research question and hypotheses, and obtain research data to work with. By defending the outcomes of his/her research, he/she will demonstrate the ability to work on the research task and work independently with the literature, to interpret research results, to present his/her research findings, to respond appropriately to questions from referees/interviewees, public debate and feedback, and to contribute to the development of the programme and the field of study nationally or internationally.
