               <p>Completion of the oral part of the examination in accordance with the study schedule of the subject of the state examination before an examination committee. The assessment (mark, classification grade) reflects quality of knowledge or skill acquired in accordance with the goals of the subject and the results of education. The respective provisions of the valid Study Regulations of the Comenius University in Bratislava apply for the assessment of the individual subjects of the state examination.</p>

            <popisTypuTextu>Brief outline of the course</popisTypuTextu>

               <p>Stručná osnova predmetu: </p>
               <p>Dissertation examination consists of a discussion on written thesis to dissertation (dissertation proposal) and the part in which a PhD. candidate should prove his/her theoretical knowledge in given subjects of dissertation examination. The Dean determines – based on the proposal of the supervisor in accordance with the approved Individual Study Plan - two subjects of the Dissertation Examination from the 3 prescribed subjects corresponding to the specialization and affiliated department of the doctoral student. The written thesis to dissertation (Dissertation Proposal) contains the aims of the Dissertation Thesis with the theoretical fundamentals of its future solution, present state of knowledge on given topic, including literature, analysis of methodological approach to solving the given topic and the extent to which the thesis has been compiled so far. </p>

               <p>The student is able to elaborate theoretical Fundamentals of the future solution of the Dissertation Thesis project in the written form, to present the current state of research and knowledge in the research topic including an overview of the recent scientific literature on the topic, and analysis of the methodological approach to the solution of the particular problems.</p>
               <p>Student is able – in the oral part of the dissertation examination – to prove his/her  theoretical knowledge in the given subjects of dissertation examination according to his/her specialization and in discussion with the members of the examination committee support his/her thesis with soundly based arguments.</p>

               <p>Completion of the prescribed study plan and acquirement of the minimum 150 credits over the full period of the doctoral study.</p>

            <popisTypuTextu>Conditions for completion of course</popisTypuTextu>

               <p>The student submits the Dissertation Thesis within the period defined in the Schedule of the current academic year for the relevant date of Dissertation examination. The Dissertation thesis is submitted in printed and bound form of three copies at the Dean’s Office of the Evangelical-Lutheran Theological Faculty CU and in an electronic form through AIS (Academic Information System). The thesis has to fulfill the requirements defined by the valid regulations of the Comenius University on the basic essentials of theses, rigorous theses and habilitation theses, check of their originality, their storage and accessing at Comenius University in Bratislava. The respective provisions of the valid Study Regulations of the Comenius University in Bratislava apply for the assessment of the Dissertation Thesis as a subject of the state examination. </p>

            <popisTypuTextu>Brief outline of the course</popisTypuTextu>
            <texty>
               <p>1. Contribution of the thesis to the particular area of study according to its character and level of the study. In the assessment of the Dissertation Thesis the following is taken into account: the student approaches the chosen topic adequately on the level of scientific paper with representative bibliography, the chosen scientific methodology is appropriate and adequate, the student uses the adequate hypotheses, which can be verified. </p>
               <p>2. Originality of the thesis (Thesis must avoid plagiarism and may not violate the copyright of other authors), integral part of the documentation of the Dissertation Thesis defense as a subject of the state examination is the originality statement from the Central Register of Theses, on which the supervisor and the opponent comment in their evaluating opinion.</p>
               <p>3. Accuracy and correctness of the cited sources, results of research of other authors, accuracy in the description of the methods and working procedures of other authors or team of authors.</p>
               <p>4. Correspondence of the structure of the thesis with the prescribed structure of the scholarly work defined in the Internal Regulation No. 12/2013.</p>
               <p>5. Respecting the recommended extent of the thesis (recommended extent of a diploma thesis is usually 80 – 120 standard pages – 144 000 to 216 000 characters including space character), adequacy of the extent of the thesis is assessed by the opponents.</p>
               <p>6. Grammatical and stylistic quality and formal style.</p>
               <p>7. The manner and form of the Dissertation Thesis Defense and the ability of the student to answer the comments and questions of the opponents in their evaluation opinions.</p>

               <p>The student is able to complete the Dissertation Thesis according to the assignment and the defined research goal on the relevant topic based on the current research in the area of Evangelical-Lutheran Theology using the corresponding scientific method. The results achieved by the thesis bring new knowledge to the field and the thesis is a significant contribution to further development in the area of Evangelical-Lutheran Theology. </p>
