The student can define psychology as a scientific discipline, can classify it historically and within the system of sciences. During the excursion, students visit selected social facilities providing social assistance and care. During the excursion, the students should get information not only about the organizational and personnel structure of the facility, but especially about the work methods and the assistance provided. They go on an excursion in individual social facilities, where they can meet the client, or clients. After completing the excursion, students reflect on their experience at the final evaluation seminar.

After completing the subject, the student should be familiar with the basic types of facilities providing social assistance, with their structure, methods and forms of work, with special attention to the work of a social worker. Then reflect on your experiences from the excursion in the final evaluation.

Completion of the subject ends with an exam. During the semester, there will be written examinations in which knowledge gained from lectures and seminars is continuously checked. The maximum evaluation from the ongoing inspections is 40 points. The course is completed by a written exam on the acquired knowledge for the entire semester, from which students have the opportunity to obtain a maximum of 60 points. At least 30 points must be obtained in the final exam.

At least 91 points are required to obtain an A grade, at least 81 points are required to obtain a B grade, at least 73 points are required to obtain a C grade, at least 66 points are required to obtain a D grade, and an E grade is required get at least 60 points.

A- excellent performance, the student controls and critically evaluates all basic concepts and principles of demography and knows how to apply them in practice; B- very good performance, the student knows the basic range of demographic phenomena, but critical thinking is borderline; C- good performance, the student has learned to orient himself in the basic principles of demography, but does not know how to apply them in practice, D- sufficient performance, the student learned only the basic core of the course content, he does not know how to apply them in practice, E - sufficient, the student learned to navigate the course content, but did not learn to actively work with it and apply it in practice.

The study provides basic information about the process of human reproduction, data, factors, methods and measures associated with this process. After completing the course, students master basic demographic concepts and indicators, orient themselves in demographic databases, are able to process a simple characteristic of the demographic development of the chosen territorial unit, can describe the effects of demographic development on various areas of society, focusing mainly on mutual interactions between population and socio-economic development . Great emphasis is placed on conveying demographic knowledge that can be directly used in the practical work of a social worker.

As part of the education, we will emphasize the "Concept of social responsibility" according to the International Standard ISO 26000 (corporate social responsibility), which is a reflection of the growing recognition of the need to ensure the health of ecosystems, social justice and good organizational management. We will emphasize responsibility, transparency, ethical behavior, respect for the interests of stakeholders, compliance with the law, as well as the protection and observance of human rights.

Course requirements:

Completion of the course ends with an assessment. During the semester, the student has the opportunity to obtain max. 40 points for active participation in supervision seminars. To participate in the final assessment, it is necessary to obtain at least 20 points from the interim assessment.

Professional practice is carried out during the semester or during block teaching and consists of 3 main parts:

1. Pre-practice seminar (4 hours)

2. Performance of professional practice (20% of the time within the performance of practice can be devoted to self-study/preparation - e.g. study of applicable legislation, study of literature on the specifics of social organizations and their clients, etc.)

3. Post-practice seminar (4 hours).

The subject is completed at a post-practice seminar, where students present and defend the experiences and results of professional practice - based on the acquired knowledge, skills and competences for the entire semester. In addition to the presentation, students will also prepare a written self-reflection focused on the goal of the practice, which they will hand over to the evaluator. At the final assessment, students have the opportunity to receive max. 60 points.

At least 91 points are required to obtain an A grade, at least 81 points are required to obtain a B grade, at least 73 points are required to obtain a C grade, at least 66 points are required to obtain a D grade, and an E grade is required get at least 60 points.

D- sufficient performance, the student participated in a pre-practice seminar, completed a 72-hour internship at the selected institution, did not participate in supervision meetings, did not engage in self-study, and presented and defended the experiences and results of the internship at the post-practice seminar.

E - sufficient, the student attended a pre-practice seminar, completed a 72-hour internship at a selected institution, did not participate in supervision meetings, did not engage in self-study, and briefly presented and defended the experiences and results of the internship at the post-practice seminar.

Seminar:

Professional practice in the higher education system of social workers. The process and content of professional practice, the relationship between the supervised student and the supervisor (practice guide). Introductory and orientation phase of professional practice. Trial phase of professional practice. Phase of consolidation and independence.

Supervisions are educational in nature. After confronting the real practice of social work (after completed field trips and experience), students come with positive and negative experiences, experiences, emotions, etc., which are discussed and transformed into topics suitable for supervision.

Practice:

Familiarization with the goals of professional practice and compliance with ethical principles.

Health protection and safety during professional practice - training.

During the internship, the student is in the role of a client of the social organization/facility that he has chosen as a place for professional practice. The student should experience the work of a social client on his own skin, carry out all the activities performed by the client/clients, spend time among them, discuss with him/her - as if he were one of them, which will allow him to better understand the client's experience and emotions during the performance his future profession.

After completing the subject (practical part - practice), the student should be able to understand the mission of social work, the tasks in its practical level, and thanks to experience and trying out the role of a client, should understand the tasks and roles of a social worker in selected organizations working with different target groups of social work . At the same time, he should be able to identify relationships and boundaries in the relationship / possibly relationship disorders/between the client and the social worker and the observance of ethical principles and to realize the importance of the quality personal and professional side of the helping professional.

After completing the subject (seminar), the student should know the essence of the supervision of student professional practices, what topics are suitable for supervision with the support of suitable techniques that can be used in supervision, and at the same time they should understand the meaning of student supervision at both levels (in the school and extracurricular environment).

To participate in the final assessment, it is necessary to obtain at least 26 points from the interim assessment.

The final evaluation takes place orally or in writing. The oral assessment takes place in groups, the student must demonstrate readiness to discuss topics related to the course content. Students are evaluated according to the frequency of entries, but also the adequacy of the answer, for which the student can receive a maximum of 60 points. The written test consists of 8 questions with a maximum score of 60 points. In the oral or written exam, students must obtain min. 36 points.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the subject (practical part - practice), the student should know and be able to apply in practice the individual administrative procedures used at the practical workplace, evaluate the applicability of laws, analyze the social environment and know the ways and possibilities of applying accepted principles, laws, and decrees in practice. At the same time, he should be able to analyze the application of social policy at the local, regional and state level and know the procedures and methods (but also their possibilities and limits) in the work of the first contact with the client in social work.

After completing the subject (seminar), the student should be more resilient towards bureaucracy, should recognize the essence and be able to look for alternatives, see other possibilities, create an overview, better understand processes and contexts in the administrative and socio-political sense, but also in the social environment, in which client operates, from which it originates and which affects it. At the same time, he should gain confidence in the first contact with the client and gradually become more autonomous not only in working with the client, but also in supervision and focus more on the client and processes than on himself.

A student can choose an internship workplace and fulfill the goals of the professional internship in the context of the final (bachelor's) thesis chosen by him.

The subject ends with an assessment. During the semester, the student, under the guidance of the teacher, compiles a social project. Each project has 2 presentations at the specific stage in which it is in front of the whole group. In the last lesson, the student receives a project by an anonymous author from the teacher and prepares an evaluation analysis. A student can get a maximum of 30 points for each presentation, 40 points for an evaluation analysis. Credits will not be awarded to a student who does not achieve a minimum of 17 points for the project presentation. It is necessary to get at least 91 points to get an A grade, at least 81 points to get a B grade, at least 73 points to get a C grade, at least 66 points to get a D grade, and at least 60 points to get an E grade.

As part of the education, we will emphasize the "Concept of social responsibility" according to the International Standard ISO 26000 (corporate social responsibility), which is a reflection of the growing recognition of the need to ensure the health of ecosystems, social justice and good organizational management. We will emphasize responsibility, transparency, ethical behavior, respect for the interests of stakeholders, compliance with the law, as well as the protection and observance of human rights.

Type of activities, number of hours, form of the course:

1 hour per week in the form of a seminar, full-time, distance, combined and practice in 144 hours per semester

Student workload: 1 hour of a seminar per week x 11 weeks.

During the semester, practice in a selected institution providing social services in the range of 144 hours. Preparation for the presentation of the seminar work 20 hours. Together 175 hours.

1. Monologic (lectures, briefing), 2. Dialogic (interview, discussion, colloquium, brainstorming), 3. Supervised self-study (working with text, content analysis, preparation of a presentation).

Completion of the course ends with an assessment. During the semester, the student has the opportunity to obtain max. 40 points for active participation in supervision seminars. To participate in the final assessment, it is necessary to obtain at least 20 points from the interim assessment.

Professional practice is carried out during the semester or during block teaching and consists of 3 main parts:

1. Pre-practice seminar (4 hours)

2. Performance of professional practice (20% of the time within the performance of practice can be devoted to self-study/preparation - e.g. study of applicable legislation, study of literature on the specifics of social organizations and their clients, etc.)

3. Post-practice seminar (4 hours)

The subject is completed at a post-practice seminar, where students present and defend the experiences and results of professional practice - based on the acquired knowledge, skills and competences for the entire semester. In addition to the presentation, students will also prepare a written reflection focused on the goal and content of the practice. At the final assessment, students have the opportunity to receive a max. 60 points.

Seminar:

Supervision on topics related to direct work with the client such as:

Ideas about the facility and performance of professional practice with the client (individual/family/group/community). Concerns and fear of working directly with the client. First contact with the client. (individual/family/group/community). Direct work with the client (individual/family/group/community). Social work (what social work is all about). Competences of a social worker. Cooperation in a team. Disparate demands on the student from those involved (client/social worker/society). Termination of cooperation with the client (individual/family/group/community). Separation and related problems, etc.

Supervisions are educational in nature. After confronting the real practice of social work, students come with positive and negative experiences, experiences, emotions, etc., which are discussed and transformed into supervision topics.

Practice:

Acquaintance with the goals of professional practice.

Health protection and safety during professional practice - training.

Performance of professional practice:

observation of work in the facility: preparation for observation, own observation, evaluation and analysis of the performed observation of the performance of social work.

active work: preparation for work, own work with the client (individual/family/group/community) under supervision, analysis and evaluation of work, development of a case study, social diagnosis of the client/assessment of the life situation of the client (individual/family/group/community). Exit interview with practice supervisor.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the subject (practical part - practice), the student should be able to identify and analyze the methods and techniques of social work used when working with an individual client/family/group/community) in a social organization or in the field under supervision. At the same time, he should be able to connect his theoretical knowledge to the practice of social work. Last but not least, he/she should be strengthened (and also acquire them) in the competences of a social worker for a student from the point of view of the competence model.

After completing the subject (seminar), the student should be more resilient, should recognize the essence and be able to look for alternatives, see other possibilities, create an overview, better understand the processes and connections at the theoretical-practical level of working with the client in the context of using various methods and techniques social work. At the same time, he should gain confidence in the process of working with the client and gradually become more autonomous not only in specific work with him, but also in supervision and focus more on the client's perspective, focus on the process and consider how the processes affect each other. He should also be able to identify his place and role in the team, how the cooperation takes place, how the cooperation of experts affects the work with the client in the context of the methods and techniques of social work used.

The student chooses an internship workplace and fulfills the goals of the professional internship in the context of the final (bachelor's) thesis chosen by him.
