The content and level of the text and its relevance to the topic of the bachelor thesis are assessed. The level of bibliographical references in the list of bibliographical references is also assessed.

During the completion of the course, the student will have consultations with the supervisor or consultant of his/her thesis. The supervisor controls the individual stages of writing the thesis and guides the student in the intentions of the professional and technical level of the thesis. The formal requirements of the thesis are distributed during the semester as follows:
1. Theory of citation and reference to sources used (basic terms, standards).
2. Formation of bibliographic references (traditional, electronic, non-book documents).
3. Citation techniques.
4. Citation managers (types, functions, limitations).
5. Academic ethics and integrity, plagiarism, types of plagiarism.
6. Main principles of professional text construction (content and formal construction, problems).
7. Formal editing of the thesis.
8. The main parts of the thesis: content, sequence of parts, production (preface, abstract, introduction, conclusion).
9. Requirements for the thesis according to the internal quality system of the University.
10. Basic requirements for the submission of final theses.
11. Basic requirements for thesis defence.
12. The most frequent problems of thesis production (on specific examples of submitted
thesis).

Upon successful completion of the course, students will have mastered the basic requirements of writing a professional text in compliance with the rules of academic ethics. They master the theory of citing and referencing sources and have skills in creating bibliographical references and citations. They understand the principles of the construction of the formal and substantive aspects of a bachelor's thesis in relation to the internal quality system of the University of Applied Sciences. They understand the causes of plagiarism, know the different types of plagiarism and know how to avoid them. They have sufficient information competences to acquire, process and interpret basic literature.

The student has theoretical knowledge of the reciprocal influences of Chinese on selected East Asian languages from synchronic and diachronic perspectives. He/she has an overview of the typological characteristics of minority languages in the PRC and Taiwan and knows the current language situation and language policy in the PRC and Taiwan. He/she has in-depth knowledge of the dialects of the Chinese language.

The language of Buddhist texts in Chinese has contributed significantly to the formation of the language of the so-called lower genres (baihua), from which other genres of Chinese literature have evolved beside official documents and other similar texts. Upon successful completion of the course, the student has expert knowledge of the morphology and syntax of the Chinese language. The student has theoretical knowledge of the various approaches to the question of word types and sentence articles in Chinese from a synchronic perspective. He/she also has theoretical knowledge of the formation of modern linguistics in the Chinese environment. The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge in the field of didactics of the Chinese language with respect to the Slovak language.
Students are introduced to the artistic translation of texts by modern and contemporary Chinese authors such as Wang Shuo, Gao Xinjian, Mao Yan, Liao Yiwu, Mian Mian and others. They learn to work with Chinese text when translating, finding appropriate synonyms and translation solutions, but also work with the final text in the target language. Students work on translations, versions of which are compared to those of their classmates, to acquire the basics of artistic translation skills. In addition to the correctness of the translation, its aesthetic function is also important. They learn to find their own variations regarding the translation problems they are confronted with, such as the translation of literary heroes' names and titles. They get to know the language in its literary form and try to translate it into a literary form in the Slovak language. They determine the style of the translation, look for the appropriate language not only from a linguistic point of view, but mainly in regard to the translation of an artistic text with its own right, in preserving the original semantic level and connotations as much as possible, and exploring the possibility of using slang or colloquial expressions, for example. Foreign students who do not speak Slovak well produce translations into English.
Students will acquire the ability to translate an artistic text on a chosen topic, stylistic abilities and learn how to work with the final text in the target language.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student has knowledge of the use of available electronic language corpora in translation. The student knows the strengths and weaknesses of different Chinese language corpora and is proficient in working with them. Likewise, he/she has knowledge of the issues of automatic tokenization and morphological annotation in Chinese. In addition, he/he actively uses the SNK Slovak National Corpus and parallel Chinese language corpora in translation. He/she can formulate advanced regular expressions in CQL in order to verify word connectivity, uses available statistical tools in corpora.

During the teaching part (continuously), the student will prepare a seminar paper in the form of a presentation on the assigned topic in the field of international relations, developments on the Korean peninsula in connection with the denuclearization process, the future of Korean-Korean relations about the unsigned peace treaty, the ongoing Six-Party Dialogue, the impact of NGOs on the easing of conditions in the DPRK, etc. The exact date and topics of the midterm review will be announced at the beginning of the semester. The presentation grade is weighted 30% of the total grade. Final term paper on topics discussed during the semester. The deadline for submission of the thesis will be announced at the beginning of the semester. The grade for the term paper weighs 70%. Active participation in class and timely submission of both the presentation and the term paper are required. Violation of academic ethics will result in the nullification of the points earned in the appropriate grade item. A student will be evaluated at the end of the semester if he/she achieves a minimum of 18 points (out of 30) on the presentation and a minimum of 42 points (out of 70) on the final term paper. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have mastered the skills of translation from and into Korean through practice in translating texts from different areas, styles, and developmental periods of the Korean language. They are familiar with the basic theories, concepts, and issues related to the study of translation and are aware of the cultural context of interlingual translation. Students can choose a translation method appropriate for a given type of text and consciously select equivalents (translation techniques), methods, and strategies. They can translate and analyze Korean-language communications in terms of grammatical, pragmatic, and cultural aspects within the context of the course. Students can conduct text analysis and evaluate texts of shorter literary formations (essays, short stories) as well as journalistic-style texts.

During the teaching part (continuously) the student will prepare assignments - translations of texts from different styles. The exact date and topics of the mid-term assessment will be announced at the beginning of the semester. The weight of the interim assessment is 90% of the total assessment. The student will take a written test (questions from the theory of translation) during the examination period. The dates of the examination will be published via the AIS system no later than the last week of the teaching part of the semester. The weighting of the assessment is 10% of the overall grade. Active participation in class, and timely submission of assignments (translation of Korean texts) is required. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have mastered the skills of translation from and into Korean through practice in translating texts from different areas, styles, and developmental periods of the Korean language. They are familiar with the basic theories, concepts, and issues related to the study of translation and are aware of the cultural context of interlingual translation. Students can choose a translation method appropriate for a given type of text and consciously select equivalents (translation techniques), methods, and strategies. They can translate and analyze Korean-language communications in terms of grammatical, pragmatic, and cultural aspects within the context of the course. Students can conduct text analysis and evaluate texts of shorter literary formations (essays, short stories) as well as journalistic-style texts.
